Book Review: Liar, Liar Hearts on Fire by Pippa Grant
Please note: Due to this global pandemic, some of my reviews may be late. I am considered essential personnel and as such, my workload has increased. Please understand that blogging is NOT my day job. I appreciate your patience.
From the publisher: Never borrow pants from your brother. Especially if he’s a size smaller than you are... because all that pressure in the junk will short-circuit your brain.
And you’ll lie to a woman in a club about your real name.
Leave her unsatisfied after making out in a bathroom.
Then find out that she’s the one thing standing in the way of your dreams. And she very much doesn’t like being lied to.
Now I have to convince Lila Valentine—the woman I can’t stop thinking about, my biggest regret, and my new boss—that I’m what’s best for the baseball team she’s inherited.
If we can’t work together to save the Fireballs, the commissioner’s forcing a sale and moving them across the country.
I’ll do anything to save my home team.
But the one thing I can’t do?
Keep my hands to myself.
Which would be fine, if she hadn’t been telling me lies this whole time too.
Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire is a rocking fun romance between a single dad obsessed with baseball, an heiress with secrets, baseball pants, a rundown team, and rabid ducks. It stands alone and comes with a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

This is the first time I have the opportunity to review a Pippa Grant book and I am absolutely thrilled! As you know, I don't believe in fandoms when it comes to authors. I think the table is big enough for everyone and as such, everyone is welcome. However, I have really enjoyed the Bro Code Books in preparation for this review. While it's not necessary for you to read the prior books to enjoy this one, I recommend you do, because the cast of characters is hilarious!

This book is a crazy rollercoaster ride! Lila and Tripp's story was so heartwrenching, hilarious, and relatable in its human nature. After tragedy has struck both Lila and Tripp's lives, the fact that these two characters took the leap is a miracle in itself. Both of them are able to meet in the middle, even when there are bumps on the road every step of the way. It has a medium spicy heat that'll satisfy all tastes.
This book has a well-developed cast of secondary characters, a great storyline and the happy ending that (now more than ever), the whole world needs. Pippa Grant manages to jump rope with the lines between zany, heartwrenching, smoldering hot, and hilarious.... and she does it while dressed as a unicorn and riding a T-Rex! A bright 5 stars for Liar, Liar, Hearts on Fire and Pippa Grant.
