Review: Getting Hot With The Scot By Melonie Johnson
Book Blurb: IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT
Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .
Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?

Favorite quotes: "Even if she spoke perfect French, how was she supposed to know
"Wanna play with my monkey?" was not just a euphemism?"
"I want to dispel the idea that smart people, smart women in particular, don't read romance"
"My point is that reading is imperative to an individual's success in life. My point is that it doesn't matter what you read, as long as you pick up a book. My point is people need to come out of the book closet, find stories they enjoy and read"
Cassie is traveling with her best friends to Europe and she has a secret plan: Have a fling while she's abroad. She meets Logan, a famous prankster, when his sister sets her up for one of his antics. Sparks definitely fly, but as you can imagine there are plenty of complications along the way.
This is an outstanding debut by Melonie Johnson. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. I cannot wait to read more from this author. I need to know more about the lives of all these fabulous charatcers! Ms. Johnson has shown her prowess in creating both primary and secondary characters that are charming and relatable. And, as I shared on my favorite quotes, I love that Cassie is very adamant about educating her boss (and the public) about the importance of reading, regardless of genre. This happens to be a cause I am also passionate about. Also, #SmartWomenReadRomace #Facts
Logan is pure Scottish fire wrapped around lovable goofiness and who can resist that combination?! Not me, that's for sure! Watching these two navigate the road to love was a great ride. A resounding five out of five for me.
